Une réécriture étrange et sensuelle de The Great Gatsby, où l'héroïne, vietnamienne d'origine et bisexuelle, embrasse comme elle le peut la folie des années 20 aux Etats-Unis. Je ne m'attendais pas aux éléments surnaturels en toile de fond, j'aurais préféré qu'ils soient vraiment exploités et non ajoutés en guise de simple décor. Par ailleurs, c'est assez lent, mais la plume de Nghi Vo est sublime

Un roman dont l’écriture est envoûtante, et où l’histoire originale de John Fitzgerald (que j’ai du coup envie de découvrir) prend d’autres nuances grâce à une héroïne, dont les origines et les pouvoirs donnent un contexte très intéressant
