Well more discounts and more sales... great for our wallets. But very bad for the book economy. If we start having sales and discount on books in France, small bookshop won't be able to follow ad will disappear. And all the small publishers won't have a way to distribute their production and will die too...
Why do you think we don't have any more samll shops for DVDs or CDS.

So let's not just think about the price, but of the consequences... sorry for the aparté!

Oh, I completely agree! Don't misunderstand me: I enjoy the fact that English-written books are cheaper in the UK (especially since they are so over-priced in France), but I don't support these discounts in France. I am really glad about the pricing rules in place: this way I can shop in either department stores or small book stores in the corner - I don't have to wonder what is more interesting for me! (That closes the aparté ;) )

You take an extreme example because this graphic novel alternate pages with pictures like a comic-book and text like a novel... And as far as I know, it's the only book like this... ;)

I know, but graphic novels are usually much "written" than the "usuals" comic books. That was my point, illustrated by the extreme example. :P

A movie just got out right? Lelf? Is it good?

I saw it yesterday, it was really good! I thought the trailer showed too much of the movie, but it really surprised me since the events aren't in the right order in the trailer, and represent only the first hour (I think).
So I came disappointed the first part because I knew the jokes and didn't laugh, but the second part blew it away and I got out saying it was great.

I just checked with the book today with my co-worker who went to see the movie yesterday. There are some differences, like the very end. And from what he said to me, the book is even better than the movie (he disliked a bit the movie's end because of one character, and he hadn't read the book before so it was not beacause he compared it with the movie, and he liked better the book's end when he read it this morning ^^)
