The Adventurer's is a novel so boldly conceived tremendous in scope, and daring in imagery as almost to defy summation. In scene it ranges from South America to Paris, London and the Riviera; then shifts to an island off the China coast, New York, Hollywood, and the rich oil lands of Texas; and ends, finally where it began, in the tiny, strife-torn republic of Corteguay.
