Hazard is a false-friend, it means ''risque''. By chance means ''par hasard'' :)

    Hi everyone~

    It feels kind of weird to speak english with french people but it's actually a great idea! I really want to improve my english. I learnt by myself and, thanks to my foreign friends, I learn new things every day but I know I still make a lot of mistakes ;~;

Anyway, I'm currently reading Cecelia Ahern's Thanks For The Memories ^^

    Hi, Erika (you're Erika right?)
Would you tell me a bit more about your book? What is the topic, do you like it?

    Hello !

I'm currently reading The Knife of Never Letting Go !  At first, I wanted to read it in original version, but when I saw this book in the new releases of the library, I could't resist to borrow it ! And, well, I think I made the good choice by reading it in french language, 'cause... there are a lot of words which are misspelt. It's because the narrator had never been to the school, so he can't read at all or write very well. I don't know how it seems in english, but it may be so complicated for a non-english person !

a narrator who never went to school? Sounds interesting.

On my side, i'm currently reading Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. As I have just begun, I haven't any specific impressions of it yet. But it a pleasure to find again the writing of Jane Austen, that I already got to know in Pride and Prejudice.

Hello, I'm new here because  I just started to read in English ! So, I'm currently reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K Rowling (but do I really need to indicate it ? xD) because I wanted to re-read the whole saga but now I prefer to read it in English and I have to say, Harry Potter is way better in English ! Okay, I was surprised at first when I saw how Hagrid was talking (with his "ter" instead of "to" and "yeh" instead of "you", among other things) and I'm really not familiar with the English terms of the univers but aside that, I'm really enjoying my reading : it's more dynamic in English, funnier and I don't know, just easier and seem more natural ! I have almost finished this first volume and I'm looking forward to read the following volumes ! :)

    hey everyone
I'm new on Livraddict and because of the Bac i have to improve my english in order to have a perfect one. I'm trying to read The old man and the sea from Hermingway but it's quite hard sometimes. After this one I will try to begin Pride and Prejudice. If someone had already read them, in english, can this person help me to understand some excerpts ?
Can you also give me some advices about books that could help me ?
    thank you :)
ps: is someone here a real bibliophile ?? like me, i'd like to meet people who can understand my love for books

    hi guys

I have just seen this topic and I think it's to be able to improve our english on Livraddict.
I have already read a few books in english (The 5th wave, The last child, ...) and now I'm reading the first book of Game of Thrones.
I have never seen the series but I was curious about it because I love this kind of fantasy novels. It is very addictive and I hope I will finish the book this weekend.

ps : I'm sorry if do mistakes =)

Woh! You began GoT in books! It's been like 2 years since I've told myself I need to read them, but I haven't find the proper time.
So how is it? Difficult? Easy? I'm curious =D
