Synopsis
Chenonceau is an architectural gem from the French Renaisssance ; it is also the most visited of the French private historic buildings. Renowned for its six centuries of History and admired for its architecture, Chenonceau also has an admirable collection of tapestries and paintings. These many works, painted by the greatest European artists from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries like Rubens or Tintoretto, echo the turbulent history of the château and the leading role played by the women who lived here. Its magnificent gardens compose an ideal landscape architecture and is a symbol of paradise on earth. The book offers a guided tour of the château, the art collection and the gardens.
