    Hey guys !

    I am currently reading the first book of the "Beautiful Creatures" series (16 lunes). Who's read it already ? I'm at page 266 and quite it like so far ! I like the fact that there is a romance that we can follow through a boy's point of view. It's quite refreshing !

    I just started a book about the consumer society and mass media. It seems really interesting but a bit complicated. It has been written in the 70s by Jean Baudrillard (french).

    Hey guys ! :) For me, it is the reading of the first book of a series called "The Faerie Wars Chronicles" from the author Herbie Brennan ! I love fantasy so much !

    I am reading Conversion written by Katherine Howe, a story about the witches of Salem. I have read only two chapters and I already love it ! :D

    Firstly, sorry for my english that is not very good.
    I've been studying english for one year. It's very interesting and I love it, but it's also a bit difficult.
    I would like to improve my english with books, but I don't know which book to choose.
    I've already read Harry Potter in French, and I don't want to read it again because I know the story.
    What do you recommend to get started?

    Oooh, hello there, just discovered this topic! What a cool idea!
    Right now I'm reading Maintenant qu'il fait tout le temps nuit sur toi by Mathias Malzieu (I don't think there is any english version of the book yet).
    When I started reading in English, I picked 'easy' books like the books for kids (well, young people) or chick-lit and it comes with the practice.
    As for the books I read in English, I loved: Here's Looking at You (Comme si c'était toi, in French), You had me at hello (Parce que c'était nous, in French) which are both written by Mhairi McFarlane, Love Rosie by Cecilia Ahern, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants (4 Filles et 1 Jean), One Day (Un jour), The Fault in Our Stars (Nos étoiles contraires), etc.
    There are so many beautiful things with English. What I love most is when there is this perfect sentence that has no real translation in French but has all its meaning in English :pink:

    Glad to see this topic, as I tend to read about as many books in English as in French... =)=)
    Right now, I'm reading Danielewski's new book, The Familiar: One Rainy Day in May, and really, really getting into it. Clever narrative, beautiful design, a web of stories both compelling and intriguing: I'm enjoying the ride so far!

    What I can advise you is to read books from the collection Harrap's yes you can. The story is in english but on the side of each page, a few words are translated. The big advantage is that you don't waste your time searching for the translation (unless the word you don't understand is not translated ^^) in a dictionary.

    I am currently reading Ce qu'ils n'ont pas pu nous prendre by Ruta Sepetys, Between shades of gray in english, nothing related to Fifty shades of grey ^^. The story takes place in Russia during the Second World War, Lina, her brother, and her mom have been captured and sent in a Soviet labor camp. She will take advantage of her talent for drawing and writing to try to communicate with her father, sent in another camp.
