So, I finished yesterday the first book of True Blood, by Charlaine Harris. And since I read it in english, I'll write my little comment in english (forgive (and point out) my mistakes). =D Regarding the story, it's nothing to write home about (no, no, I didn't know this idiomatic expression, I just looked out for it :P). I understand better why "bit-lit" partly comes from "chick-lit" : both light literature (which is not necessarily pejorative for me). I mean that it's entertaining and not hard to understand. I noticed some repetition in the text (so many things have been "odd" during the story...) and even if I stumble over some words, I think my reading has been pretty easy. I don't know if this is possible, but just by reading these 300 pages in english, I feel my english already got better! So, the first True Blood is not a masterpiece, but it is enough funny for me. :P And, interesting fact (or not) : this was my first "Bit-lit" reading! And I can say that, even if it is less "hot" than the tv series (from what I have heard), every chapter are not to be outdone. :P
