Synopsis
The time: 1985. The place: Kansas City, Missouri.
Fed up with being called "billy lou" and feeling like an outsider at school, Louis Lamb, determines to make his sixth-grade year different.
The year is different, in ways Louis couldn't have anticipated. A new teacher, Jack Forster, takes an interest in Louis, coaches him in softball, and helps him discover his one real talent: writing.
