Carter Jones, a straight-A student who has never broken a rule before, and Killian Henderson, the school's troublemaker, end up in detention together. Carter notices the tattoo on Killian's knuckles. Y.O.L.O.

“You like it?” Killian smiled, flipping his hand so I could get a better look. “It’s my life's philosophy.”

I scowled. Your life philosophy is based on a cringey, overused acronym?

"Then let’s make a bet,” Killian smiled.

"A bet?” I asked.

“Four dares. You give me four dares to convince me that your lifestyle is harder than mine, and I’ll give you four dares to show you how hard it is to live life like you only have one.”

Together, the two boys challenge each other to find the meaning behind living once. But what happens when their bet goes beyond what they expected? And what happens when feelings get involved?
