Born into servitude to the warrior kingdom of Eltoria, Ambrose has spent her entire life confined within the palace walls. Forced to train in secret, she’s a shadow among the warriors that are the pride of the empire; brutal fighters that gather every five years for a deadly competition that could earn them a place among the gods.
When a fateful night shatters Ambrose’s world as she knows it, she’s thrust into the empire’s deadliest tradition: the Immortal Trials. To have any chance of survival she must face the first trial, the Champion’s Tournament.
As danger closes in from all sides, Ambrose uncovers powers she can’t control, truths she never meant to find, and secrets about her world the gods would do anything to keep buried. The closer she gets to the tournament the more she’s left to wonder: is survival truly worth the cost?
