Edinburgh night-owl Rich kwnos exactly what he wants from life: drink, drugs and attractive women who can be persuaded to perfrom a striptease for him. And he thinks he's deep. Until he almost drowns, that is, and realises he needs to change - if only he knew hom. And then he falls in love, and suddenly he's gasping for her again.

His sister Denise, a successful psychoterapist, is acutely perceptive about everbody - except her hard-drinking, promiscuous self.
