A Deadly ConLiz Turner2018

Synopsis

Jolene Park’s whole life is her law firm, which she shares with her business partner, John Walter. They’re quickly on their way to becoming the most sought-after criminal defense attorneys in Southern California. Things are going well for their young firm, and neither of them wants to upset their success with a risky client…or anything else.

But then a straightforward case—a favor for a friend—turns into one of the most high-profile murder cases Los Angeles County has seen in years. Jolene must protect her twenty-two-year-old defendant from a lifetime in prison for a crime which, even if she did commit, may have been justified. Jolene straddles the line between serious attorney, passionate detective, and friend, as she searches for hard evidence.

Along the way, she finds herself asking the toughest questions she’s yet to face: Does she even believe her client is innocent? Does it matter? Is there something out there more important than her career? And what about the way her heart beats whenever John walks into the room?
