The first edition of THE DEAD SEA SCRIPTURES, which contains the translated text of the ancient Hebrew writiings found in caves near the Dead Sea, has sold over 150,000copies since its publication in 1956. For this revisited and enlarged second edition, Professor Theodor Gaster, one of the world's most famous distinguished Hebraists, has added all of the coherent texts published since 1956. In addition, the translations (especially of the Hymns) have been thoroughly revised; additions have been made to the Introduction, and both the Analytical Index and the List of Biblical Quotations and Parallels have been expanded.
