Décidément, Brandon Sanderson fait des merveilles ! Ce premier tome est INCROYABLE. Le récit est intelligent, extrêmement bien construit, et les personnages sont d'une justesse épatante.

Voilà un roman que j'aurais abandonné s'il n'avait pas été écrit par Sanderson mais qui finalement m'a beaucoup plu. Mais que les débuts ont été laborieux et lents ! L'auteur nous livre un univers complexe et ce Way of Kings n'en est que l'introduction, de plus de 1000 pages. Mais c'est très intéressant tout comme les personnages et au final j'ai très envie de connaître la suite.

Un roman plus difficile à appréhender qu'Elantris, Mistborn ou Warbreaker. L'univers est complexe et cette fois Sanderson ne nous tient pas par la main pour nous le présenter. Résultat, on est sur un roman beaucoup plus lent et avec des longueurs. En revanche, les personnages de Sanderson sont toujours aussi bien écrits et font la force du récit.

Une relecture assez bonne dans l’ensemble. Personnages attachants et un monde de Roshar assez original bien que très peu exploré pour le moment…
