After nearly being robbed at knifepoint, I’m in desperate need of someone to teach me self-defense.

My teacher comes in the form of a six-foot Irish woman with a beautiful smile and perfect right hook. She promises to train me in exchange for a favor: I pretend to be her girlfriend for a high school reunion.

I’m down. Free food, a beautiful date, and a chance to become a bad-ass. Downside? There was none. Until she kissed me. Or, I kissed her. I can’t remember.

Our lies keep growing. And so do my feelings. Before I know it I’m on a weekend family hiking trip - on a mountain, I’m technically banned from climbing - with eccentric parents, nosy siblings, and one very beautiful, an out-of-my-league boxer who I may or may not be falling in love with.
